VAT- Value Added Transmissions
I have been known to dabble in the odd personal development book from time to time, and one of my favourites is by Brian Tracy. He's a bit of a guru in this field, and in the world of business and sales. Perhaps you've heard of him.
He talks of adding value. I reckon that's a good call for any workplace, particularly for disgruntled DJ's. Feeling undervalued? Feel it's all part of the "showbix" game, and that dammit, no- one gets the appreciation they deserve?
I can relate. I'm sure it's something we've all experienced in every workplace from time to time.
But, apart from the most extreme cases, does it have to be this way?
What if.. you felt that you were adding value everywhere you went. How would that make you feel as you walked in the door in the morning? To your on air performance? if you felt that in some small way, you were positively touching every person you had listening to you.
Brainstorm all the demographics that are listening- sometimes people will fall into more than one simultaneously- eg, mother and businesswoman. How can you add value to them? Even if it is just making them laugh and having some fun with them!
Just thoughts.
